HOW TO ADD GOODNOTES PNG STICKERS

USING AN IPAD’S MULTITASK VIEW

PURPOSE OF STICKERS | AND HOW TO INSTALL THEM

Stickers come in all shapes and sizes, and are meant to provide function and style to any notebook. Functional stickers often have a color that can be used to highlight objects and writings. Other times, they can be written on like a post-it sticker. Stylish/fun stickers are meant to decorate your notebook to make it more lively and personal.

There are two main ways of installing stickers into a GoodNotes PDF by using an iPad-using the iPad’s multitask view where you drag sticker png files from the Files App into GoodNotes, and the other is by opening a sticker book (a PDF that has multiple stickers on it) within GoodNotes and copy/pasting them into your notebook. You have to find which method best works for you.

METHOD 1 | MULTITASKING VIEW USING PNG FILES

STEP 1

*MAKE SURE IPAD MULTITASKING IS ON
(Found under Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Multitasking)

**A PDF READER APP (GoodNotes, Notability, etc.) MUST BE INSTALLED ON THE IPAD AND ON THE DOCK

Open your PDF Reader-based app (GoodNotes, Notability, etc.) and Cloud-based Storage app (Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) in multitasking view on you iPad. To do this, open your PDF Reader app, then swipe up slowly from the bottom, middle of the iPad screen to bring up the Dock. (Your app should not close when you swipe up.) On the dock, tap and hold the cloud storage app until you can move the icon around, then drag the icon to the left or right side of the screen to open the app next to your PDF reader.

STEP 2

With your apps open in multitasking view (side by side), navigate to your sticker in your cloud storage app. In your GoodNotes app, navigate to the page that you want to add your sticker. Tap and hold the sticker on your cloud-based app and slide it over into GoodNotes. The sticker can now be resized and moved within GoodNotes. Tap outside of the sticker's bounding box (blue dashed-line box that surrounds the sticker) to unselect the sticker and place it.
